PWC Proficiency Course R4000
Our RYA Personal Watercraft (PWC) Proficiency Course is a 1-day, hands-on training programme designed to give you the skills and confidence to operate a jet ski safely and responsibly.
Whether you’re riding for fun or preparing for a career in watersports, superyachts, or resort operations, this course covers:

Taught by qualified RYA instructors, you’ll gain practical experience both in sheltered waters and out along the coastline. On successful completion, you’ll receive an internationally recognised RYA certificate, opening opportunities to work or ride PWCs around the world.

Outcome:
You’ll leave with the skills and confidence to operate a jet ski safely and responsibly, plus an internationally accreddited RYA certificate.
Expectations

Safely and confidently operate a personal watercraft (jet ski) in a variety of conditions.

Understand and apply safety procedures, including pre-launch checks, correct use of kill cords, and emergency actions.

Manoeuvre at both low and high speeds, including launching, recovery, turning, and stopping effectively.
-
Perform a man overboard recovery safely.
-
Navigate using basic pilotage skills and understand the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (IRPCS).

Respect local byelaws and environmental considerations when operating a PWC.

The course is designed so that, upon successful completion, students can operate a PWC unsupervised, in familiar waters, by day, holding an internationally recognised certificate that’s valid worldwide and often required for work in the marine industry.
What to Bring
To make the most of your RYA PWC Proficiency course, remember to bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a change of clothes, towel, lunch, and your enthusiasm for learning. Wetsuits will be provided but if you have your own feel to bring it along.
