Neptune’s Nautical Academy

At Neptune’s Nautical Academy, we value your commitment to training and strive to offer flexibility while ensuring fairness for all students. This Refund Policy explains when and how refunds apply to course bookings.

1. General

  • Course fees must be paid in advance to confirm your booking.

  • Refunds are issued only in accordance with the terms set out below.

  • All refunds will be made using the original method of payment.

2. Student Cancellations

  • 14+ days before course start → Full refund (minus R250 admin fee).

  • 7–13 days before course start → 50% refund.

  • Less than 7 days before course start → No refund.

  • After course commencement → No refund under any circumstances.

3. Academy Cancellations

  • If Neptune’s Nautical Academy cancels a course due to weather, safety concerns, instructor illness, or operational reasons, you will be offered:

    • A free transfer to another available date, OR

    • A full refund with no admin fees.

4. Non-Attendance

  • Failure to attend a booked course without prior written notice is non-refundable.

  • Late arrivals that result in missed training will not be refunded or rescheduled.

5. Transfers & Rescheduling

  • Requests to reschedule a confirmed booking must be made in writing at least 7 days before the course start date.

  • One reschedule per booking is permitted free of charge. Additional changes may incur an admin fee.

6. Gift Vouchers & Specials

  • Gift vouchers, promotional deals, and discounted course bookings are non-refundable, but may be transferred to another participant (with prior written approval).

7. Certification Standard

  • Please note: course fees are for training, not guaranteed certification. Refunds will not be given if a student fails to meet the required standard for RYA certification.

8. Force Majeure

  • Neptune’s Nautical Academy is not liable for refunds where cancellations are caused by events beyond our control, including natural disasters, harbour closures, pandemics, or government restrictions.
