Certification:
Successful candidates receive the RYA Short Range Certificate, the minimum legal qualification required to operate VHF/DSC marine radios.
Exam fee is payable directly to the RYA.

Students can expect a practical, hands-on training experience that blends real-life radio scenarios with essential theory. The course covers everything from basic operation to advanced emergency procedures, ensuring you understand exactly what to do in distress, urgency, routine, and medical situations.

You can complete the training online at your own pace or join us in the classroom—but all exams are conducted in person at our academy in Hermanus. Expect an engaging day of learning, real radio practice, and plenty of support from our certified instructors.
